Spreading Cheer Across Tacoma’s North End.

Supported and endorsed by the North End Neighborhood Council, ‘Holiday Windows’ is bringing cheer across Tacoma’s North End through a neighborhood ‘advent calendar,’ where a total of 24 residents and businesses have decorated their windows in celebration of the season.

Each day, between December 1-24, a new beautifully decorated window will be revealed at 6PM across Tacoma’s North End. The ‘Holiday Windows’ will remain revealed and up until December 31st, 2024!

December 21st

Our twenty-first ‘Holiday Window’ finds us at the home located at 3334 N. Gove St, Tacoma, WA 98406. This ‘Holiday Window’ is unmistakable, for at the Kathan Koehne home a very large and cheery snowman will greet you as you arrive! This snowman and the two children living in this house – Josie and Finn – wish for snow this winter, but they have had no such luck so far. Regardless, they are all hopeful! This happy and hopeful snowman was created by Celena Kathan and her mom, Sue Van Winkle, and her aunt, Phyllis Van Winkle. Special Notice: Please come by between 6–8 p.m. December 21 for live porch holiday music by a local UPS student/pianist, and stay warm with a cup of hot cocoa or hot apple cider and a cookie. This festive crew hopes to see you out (and braving the rain!) tonight!
